4 1/2 years old and the condenser failed while we were on vacation. Came back to hundreds of dollars of spoiled food. It took a couple of weeks for LG to agree to a refund which was prorated unfortunately. The design and functionality were great but no reliability.

Happy with this frig for the first 7 years. But now the door on door does not close cleanly. It really has to be pushed for it to connect and close tight. And now the little inside door tends to spring open. The compressor just went out and cost quite a bit to have it replaced.All in all it has always kept everything cold.

Initially I was very happy with the fridge. Liked the bottom freezer with the drawer and the door in door feature. Tons of usable space. However the compressor failed and no local companies deal with LG. The repair companies recommended by LG never returned our calls. Would have ended up costing almost half of the cost of new fridge to repair so ended up having to get a new fridge. Will not buy LG fridge again.

We have had this refridgerator for 4 years and we are a little disappointed that the compressor failed last week. LG has been great with getting back to us and helping us pay for food we threw away. Once we got it fixed we needed it fixed again though because the new compressor did not fully work either. Beyond the compressor though this has been a great fridge. The only thing I wish it had was an actually fridge and freezer thermostat. Turns out the temperature reading on the fridge is just the settings and not actual temp. It would be helpful to know actual temp.

This is not a new unit but one we liked well enough to move from VA to TN. It just had a heat lung transplant as our LG repair person Ken called it due to gradually losing its cooling capacity over a 1 week period. So since we like it and it was still just within the warranty period we decided to have i fixed. Now after a new compressor and condenser it is like new and working great.

There are codes on my monitor screen that I cant find the explanation for. Most codes only tell you to seek a service advisor who wont help you decipher the code. He wants to come over but he charges excessive amount just to come out.

Weve had this now for 6 years and from the beginning have had issutes with a loud rattle that LG and Home Depot contracted people have come out several times for this loud rattle that apparently can not be fixed. We have also now gone through 2 compressors. I didnt have to pay anything for any of the calls which is good but I shouldnt have all these issues.

Ive had this refrigerator six years and three months and the compressor has failed twice once under full warranty and once under parts only warranty meaning considerable expense for labor. The first time we lost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. The second time I bought a small refrigerator so we wouldnt lose absolutely everything. It took a week for the repairman to come the first time and almost two weeks the second time so its easy to see why a backup is necessary. After the second repair the main compartment is still not getting really cold and we are told by the repairman that we have to unplug the refrigerator for two days to thaw out some hidden duct. Ugh BTW the door-in-a-door feature supposedly keeps cold from being lost if you just want some milk say but that coin has another side too. It keeps the cold out of the outside part of the door--milk in the door always 2-3 degrees warmer than milk kept inthe main compartment.

3 Repairs Within a Year

I love the concept behind the door in door idea however my refrigerator is a piece of crap. The compressor was replaced March 2021 April 6 2022 and again today. I am so disgusted with the lack of concern that LG has displayed. Hundreds of dollars in food and I was told it could not be replaced. Reason: The freezer was not working but your refrigerator was even though refrigerator did not hold a cool temperature. Today they are both out and I am livid. I requested a replacement but as long as they can patch it LG will do that until warranty expires. This is truly unacceptable

Paid a lot of money for this refrigerator and in less than 4 years it totally quite cooling in both refrigerator and freezer portion. LG was no help in finding a repairman to come work on it. It took LG over a week to respond to our request for help and then said no one would come out to work on it. Finally got LG to agree to let us find a local repairman. Talked to three different one and none would work on LG products because they inferior products and if fixed would go bad again not long after. One said he had 6 calls in the same week for problems with LG refrigerators. It has been almost a month without a refrigerator which is hard for retired folks to deal with on a fixed income. Because LG could not or would not provide service for their product they should have at least offered some rebate on the defective product they sold.

Very good fridge purchased in aug. 2016. In 2017 the ice maker was replaced under warranty. In March 2022 it was replaced by me. I purchased it at repair clinic and saw their video on you tube. You can replace it in 1 hour.

And to top it off we are still wsiting to hear from you to say you will honor the warranty and pay for the condensor and shipping. I would gladly change my opinion of you if that happens ans especially if that happens sooner vs later.

I have this refrigerator and loved it until the compressor went and it took over a week for them to get one of their technicians out to repair it under warranty. Its been over a year since its been repaired and I am still waiting for compensation for the over $700.00 of food I lost. I have submitted the receipt from purchase of the fridge photos of everything that I lost and a list of every item and still have not been reimbursed. They are horrible
