For four years we have had no problems. Cooling failed but LG had an extended warranty on the compressor due to known problems. Six service calls later it was fixed. Then 2 months later circuit started tripping though not covered by LG Warranty. So if you purchase an LG refrigerator be sure to also purchase an extended repair warranty because you may need it

We bought this item a little less than 5 years ago. We contacted LG for an issue of the unit not cooling or freezer working. They scheduled a service tech and was at our home within one week during the holidays. He was able to find that that the compressor had gone out and was able to replace it t he same day at no charge. Clay was great at customer service. He kept us informed every step of his service.

LG and the stores that sell their refrigerators know that the compressors do not last long. It is widely known through the service centers that LGs refrigerator compressors go bad within a couple of years. Mine lasted about 3 1/2 years which if you read a lot of the reviews isnt bad compared to other consumers. Their products look good but just plain stop working. No service people will touch them and there is no fix for their bad compressors.

Three warranty claims in three years

Within 4 months of owning refrigerator two warranty services were required. Refrigerant line was leaking appliance would not stay cold. First service did not correct the problem a second service provider Nextera Appliance fixed the problem by resoldering refrigerant line there were numerous leaks. Two and a half years later now freezer has been 12 degrees warmer than display shows Nextera Appliance was sent by LG to replace compressor. Ice cream will now freeze. Very happy now

I am on my third LG Fridge. They do not last more then two years. Even if you buy the extended warranty you still have to wait six to eight months to get a new fridge or be reimbursed. This is such a burden when you buy groceries. And even more of a pain when it is for holidays. Then your very nice and vey expensive fridge dies with 52 people wondering what we are having for Thanksgiving diner and Christmas diner. This has now happened with two fridges. And starting with my third LG fridge. Same time frame and everything. At least this time around the technician is helpful and not extremely rude. LGs scheduling department for i home service is horrible. I missed five days of work due to scheduling and tech not showing up for appointments. LG would not reimburse me anything. They said its not there fault. Stay away from this fridge to expensive for two years of use.

Its a big fridge that broke down in 4.5 years

We love this fridge the 30cu gives us ton of space to store our items. It has a good size freezer too. The small door that allow us to keep our beverages without opening the entire fridge is a neat feature so that the fridge doesnt lose its cold just to take some beverages out. However this fridge broke down recently in about 4.5 years of usage a bad compressor. I expect a fridge to last for at least 10 years and here we are finding a technician. Fortunately my model falls under the model# that was under a class action lawsuit hence it qualifies for an additional 5 years warranty. After at 8 to 10 frustrating call with LG customer service that need serious training a technician finally came and fix the fridge for free after 14 days of waiting.

My LG Refrigerator

I bought this in 2016 and thought it was a great one until the compressor went out on it. It took a month to get the parts to fix it. When the repairman installed the new compressor it still did not work. The repairman told LG Tech people that it was not repairable and even told them the problem. LG said it was out of warranty and it was my tuff luck. I will never buy another LG Refrigerator and I will tell anyone who is about to buy one that they are buying one that will not last past the warranty.

Love the space on this fridge. Only complaint I have is that the compressor died 4 years in. Its apparently a known feature related to the seal but LG doesnt tell you that. Just that theyll stand behind their product. They arranged for our service free of charge but there were scheduling issues. If you have this fridge get the compressor seal checked before it dies on you over a weekend. The self-diagnosis also did not find any sort of problem

Great Fridge while it lasted

This fridge was great for just over 3 years now. Loved the door in door feature and the external ice and water center. 30 Cu Ft is a little small for a larger family it was a downgrade from a 33 CU.FT. but it works. All in all a great unit. Until recently when the linear compressor burned out. Research shows a lot of the linear compressors have an issue. I have been waiting for 3 weeks now and they have rescheduled the repair again. The new date will make it 30 days this summer without a fridge. Product was good but service is not.

Built our house moved in 2018. We loved all the features of our door in door black stainless fridge. Until June 2022 fridge just stopped working. Diagnosed compressor to be bad based on the smart diagnostic tool. No repair service for several weeks. Assuming this should be fixed under warranty but all I see here is 1 year parts and labor. I would never have bought this brand.. Have heard nothing but bad about their refrigerators. I also have an oven and Micro. Cant wait to see when those fail. How are we supposed to go from June to September without a fridge. I read there is a class action suit. need to find out more about this.

We bought this about 3 years ago. If you had asked me to review 2 months ago I would have given it 5 stars. It has tons of room and I learned from experience that I can take the whole thing apart to clean up spills and make it look brand new again. However a little over a month ago both the fridge and freezer suddenly stopped cooling. Not knowing what was wrong I paid to have a repair company come look at it and was told the compressor had went bad. Then I was able to call LG directly because the compressor only is covered under warranty for 5 years. By the time I was able to get an appointment all the food from my fridge and freezer had gone bad. So all in all I love the fridge and freezer when its working but it was one heck of a pain when it broke. I will say the repair man LG assigned was fantastic

This refrigerator stopped working after and a few months while we were on vacation and flooded my kitchen floor. Food spoiled Now its 5 years old and a new compressor had to be installed. Ice cream still isnt getting hard enough. Waiting for repair man again. Not only was the refs lot of money but the repair costs and replacing the food is expensive. I see there was a lawsuit because of the compressors but Im too late to do anything about it.

Bought in 2017. Was great the first three years. The we had to had service on it three different times for the ice machine. Then the freezer shelf broke and needed to be fixed. On Mothers Day the refrigerator stopped working and when we woke up everything was warm. Lost all our frozen foods along with all refrigerated foods. Called for service as we had extended warranty and they said they wouldnt be out for two weeks. How do you think we couldve survived without a fridge for 2 weeks. Was able to explain we are a family of 8 and needed someone immediately. Finally got someone to fix it 3 days later.

Several problems after about 2 years

This is an expensive fridge that we have had several problems with. Due to placement of certain components this unit gets ice buildup and stop cooling. I have to defrost the unit every couple of months. We have had several parts replaced. Also identifying and getting parts is difficult as the literature available for the product not complete.

Totally dead after 4 years

Loved the space finish peels unit dead after 4 years. Repair tech replaced all mechanical parts and could not revive- had to replace the unit and LG tried to offer a prorated refund.

I bought this 5.5 years ago. Needed work under warranty. Needed new ice maker-bad solder as I remember-not under warranty. Needed new fan motor 9 months ago=no refrig for 14 days. Quit again. Trashed the whole thing. Suspect the delivery people for my new refrig put in a compressor or new fan motor or something to get it running again. LOVED the features
