Part Replacements Issue

Refrigerator is good but in 6 years there have been service calls one to replace condenser and evaporator coil in 2019 and then evaporator coil again in 2022. The positive is the service call and parts were cheaper than buying another refrigerator.

Especially like the separate cold draw for storing meat and drinks. Can be as low as 29 f. Some problem with the retractable shelf that can get bumped and retract unexpectedly. Also needed to defrost the freezer coil once as it was rubbing the fan making a lot of noise. Happened after several years of use

Good design and very usable

Have owed this fridge for 3 years. It is very functional. It cools and freezes evenly with zero frost build up or moisture. The meat and vegetable draws work very well. The interior of the fridge is very bright and door in a door keeps high use items accessible without pulling very much cool out of the fridge when the door is opened. The freezer and draw lights dont cover the full area very well. The freezer area might be a bit tight and small for high freezer users I am not. I would rate this fridge 4 stars except two items. The compressor went out at 3 years. It was under warranty and was replaced by a skilled professional at no charge except the 4 days of food waste while waiting for the repair. The second is that the quality control or then quality of the plastic used in the interior and doors needs to improve. One small non structural crack appeared see photo in the first few months and a second small crack appeared in the 2nd year. For this level of fridge this shouldnt happen. However it is a very nice fridge and hoping for many more years of use now that a new compressor has been installed.

Broken after 3 years LG warranty is useless

Stopped cooling after 3 years. Linear compressor still under warranty but no one in our area will even touch LG fridges anymore. LG resolutions keeps sending us around and around in circles refusing to make this right. I understand things happen but honest companies value their customers and follow through with their warranties. Will NEVER buy another LG product ever again. Buyers beware.

Ive had my refrigerator for about a year now and its still the best refrigerator Ive ever owned. The interior lights make it easy to see everything. The food is cold and stays fresh. There are no odors with the air filter. The water dispensed from the door is delicious. And the motor is very quiet. With the design of the shelves. Its easy to see and reach everything. There have been absolutely no problems. The freezer holds a ton of food. Easy to reach . Its nice having 2 pull out shelves for small items. Im sold on LG for all appliances. I have had this fridge for about 6 years. Overall I like the features design and have been mostly pleased. There have been two issues - the Compressor and then the Condenser has to be replaced. In both cases LG warrantied the parts so I only had to come out of pocket for the Labor. I was pleased with how they handled each issue.

What a piece of crap The compressor exchange and had to be replaced after 4.5 years of service. My last Refridgrator lasted over 30 years and still worked when I gave it away. The technician came to my house replaced everything of course after 5 years it would have been at my expense. Ill never by another one.

My Honest Review

We bought this fridge four years ago mainly because we liked the design the apparent quality and the functionality it offers. We have extremely very happy with it well until almost 3 weeks ago when the sealed system leaked and the compressor failed causing the fridge to stop cooling. LG has been unable to find anyone to repair it so we are now going through a partial refund or replacement case with them. So far we been 19 days without a fridge.

Bought for freezer and cooling drawer

I bought this in 2020 and have been quite happy with it. The freezer space is functional for me and I like the it is divided into two sections in the big drawer. Above that are two shallow trays that pull out above the deep drawer. These are each of different shallow depths and are handy for small flat containers or packages bacon nuts beer glasses sausage rolls frozen fruit or veggies. There is the separate cooling drawer whic is temperature adjustable. I keep thawed meat soda and other things there at 33F. The main reverted section is pretty functional . As previous reviewer said none of the crisper drawers will take a full head of celery. I just cut off the bottom of the celery which gets thrown out anyway. The little shallow extra storage is very hand for cheese or lunch meat. It also provides a landing space if you want to stand with the door open to pour something into a glass. The only cons are the thin stainless steel door which I dented within moths by it opening into something. Not bad and doesnt show much. Also keeping the stainless relatively free of fingerprints is a pain but I just ignore most of the time. Next time I hope to go back to white or black enamel or glass. The ice maker and water dispenser have worked perfectly and are used daily.

Unfortunately from the get go there was a need to replace the compressor then in year 2 the fan in year 4 the unit was not holding temperatures below 40F. It was working around 45-50F. It triggered a warranty replacement. Right now we are in the process of replacing for another unit unfortunately what we paid doesnt cover current prices for a similar unit.

We wanted everything new for this transition except our washer/dryer-super capacity LG combo which we loved We found a LG refrigerator at Home Depot that was perfect for our needs Since we have moved in we have replace the dishwasher and microwave with LG products and have not liked back If your stove ever dies we will have an entire LG house. As enticing as that is we do not want the stove to die

Love the way it looks not the amount of repairs

I bought this fridge at the end of 2016. Worked great for the first couple of years. And then we started to have the dreaded cooling events. We lost all of our food and it took two weeks to get a new compressor installed. The actual fix took 4 hours. For a year it worked great again. Then we came home from vacation to a an entire fridge and freezer full of spoiled food. This time we were out of warranty though LG kindly made an exception and had a repair person to the house. The newish compressor caused the condenser to not work. Thankfully the repair person had the part and installed in less than an hour. All fine again. I do love the way it fits and looks in the kitchen though weve lost a lot of faith and more importantly food. Not the LG that I had come to love previously.

not repairable

LG refrigerator is not repairable. Lost hundreds of $ in food still trying to get reimbursed for loss. Was on hold for over 2 hrs yesterday but gave up and will try again to get status of that reimbrusement. It only worked for a little over 5 yrs?

Responsive Service to Cool us down

We bought our LG refrigerator about 4 years ago and recently noticed that it wasnt cooling enough. We were upset given that some of our foods were spoiling. We called LG and within less than 12 hrs they had a technician out. The technician was very professional and offered options. A few hours later our fridge was working like new. Weve had other fridges in the past not LGs and we always struggled to get any help from those companies. Kuddos to LG for delivering on their promise.

Really bad compressor

Since the year I bought this refrigerator it has been giving me trouble with cooling. Each year the compressor gets bad and I have to pay $$$ to get it serviced even when the issue is of LGs bad compressor. Not only my food is getting spoiled because of this but my husbands insulin also got bad and we had to get a new prescription from our doctor to get the medications refilled. With so much damage the least that is expected is that LG provides free service for its bad part but instead we have to pay each time which is definitely not fair.

Great looking fridge with a failed sealed system

There is a leak in the sealed system of this fridge within warranty. LG service seem to have given up. If the fridge is replaced as we have a full set if LG appliances we will say LG service is good. If not then LG doesnt stand behind its own warranty and should therefore be avoided. Currently ongoing and the process is stressful.

Bought a new house 3 years ago and inheritedthis refrigerator as part of the sale. Ive had it repaired 3 times now and am crossing my fingers it has a few years of life in it. I will say LG customer support and extended warranty is life support for this and I do appreciate their collaboration. All of this takes time and energy and disrupts our lives every time we have to move all the contents the unit to a garage unit before every repair. This is a very needy refrigerator.

Had for about 4 years. Had to replace the door last month and now the compressor went out and not cooling. Opened a warranty claim with LG over 2 weeks ago and still is not fixed. Fridge doesnt cool and freezer doesnt freeze. Has been a solid unit up until this point. Hopefully LG customer service can take care of my warranty issue asap.

Consider this your long-term review because I have owned this for 6 years. I love the features and it works great when its working. In fairness it usually works. Im just a little grumpy right now because it hasnt worked for the last three weeks due to a dead compressor. Over the 6 years it has needed service three times. Two of those were early while it was under the service plan ice maker and magnetic seals. This third one is not under a service plan after the first 5 years it gets absurdly expensive but the compressor itself is under a 10 year warranty parts only which LG is honoring without a problem. The rest of the time I really like this fridge. Being counter depth it doesnt stick out a foot from the counter but sits nicely in its place. You do give up a bit of space inside for it being counter depth but it still holds plenty for us. That may not suit for a family of six but should easily work fine for a family of two or three or even four if you dont leave old stuff laying around for weeks. The center drawer is very nice as a place for many of the flat deli things and drinks that often take up lots of shelf space. The freezer has two upper shelves that help you keep track of the things you need most often without always have to dig through piles of frozen things. The ice maker storage bin isnt large but is plenty for two or three people without ever running out. It fits nicely in the left door while still leaving room to store things in that door. It holds temperatures well and seems pretty consistent from front to back. Overall other than the repairs this is a very useable fridge and I would buy it again. It might sounds like Im downplaying the repairs but Ive owned appliances from almost all the major brands and they all end up needing repair. If anyone made appliances that actually lasted I would buy those and stick with them but it seems the days of appliances lasting 20 years are over. This hasnt been any worse than anyone elses on that score and its very nice to use while working. I think thats the best we can hope for any more.

I have mixed reviews. i like the refridgerator when it works however i have had issues with it working.it has had the FF error code on it for awhile. Did a smart diagnoisis repairman bought the new parts installed them. Worked for a couple days yet still had the FF error code.i can hear fan is running.but the same issue is back after a couple days.switched out the freezer fan assembly which included fans motors. Ice cream is back to soft. I only have ice cream in freezer cause i dont want to loose any more food. We lost a freezer full of food. Emptied out whole fridge for almost 30 hrs with doors open unplugged. Repairman installed the new freezer fan assembly defrost heater thermostat. Still have FF error code. Ice cream was frozen for about 3-4 days. Now it is soft again. Please tell me how to fix my refridgerator. I love it when it works. I cant put food in freezer. Til its working so i dont loose more food.

We inherited the LG in a home purchase. It was our favorite refrigerator ever in terms of features. At only 6 years old the compressor went out. Despite remaining parts warranty we even with LG supports help could not find anyone able or willing to fix what they described as a sealed system. We had to dispose of it and purchase another brand that can be supported.

We have had this refrigerate for 3 1/2 years. The ice maker sucks and clogs all the time. Shelves have already cracked and it went completely out last week and had to throw a ton of away. Repair person told me the compressors constantly go out on the LG refrigerators. Wouldnt buy again

Refrigeration compressor failed at 5 years

In general we like all the features. The middle refrigerator drawer the water and ice in the door. Unfortunately the refrigerator-freezer has not been reliable. The refrigeration compressor failed at 5 years and 2+ months but LG covered the part and labor for repair and the refrigerator is working properly now. However we have had a recurring issue with the structure of the interior vegetable drawer. The top plastic part has broken twice now I purchased a replacement part a two years ago and it has broken again it appears to me the plastic was designed and molded too thin and not strong enough to be part of a shelf system.

Overall good except the compressor

I bought this in 2016 loved it until the compressor stopped working in 2019 got replaced and happened again 3 years later. Learned the new energy saving compressor is not going to last more than 5 years. I wont buy any fancy refrigerator anymore.

We bought this refrigerator four years ago and its been everything we wanted. Its a counter depth and has room for all that we need. The icemaker is fast the water filter is easy to replace. Would love the middle drink drawer where we keep drinksthings like bacon and eggs on the one side. The flexibility of the shelving and having the one shelf that slides back for extra height if you need it has been useful. We would buy this again
