Bad dryer and breaks often

we have had 4 service calls on this dryer in last 4 years. it breaks down every year, and so far we have replaced, belts, heating coil, dryer pulley... i can't believe how bad this product it. with two smalls kids we need a reliable dryer. i will not recommend this to anyone, and will be looking to buy another brand soon. do not buy this!

the dryer started making terrible noise soon after oputchase. it was fixed under warranty, but the noise came back after about 3 months. now, the dyer stopped heating the closed. i am now thinking that i would not buy appliances from samsung as i see this issue quite common in 1 star reviews.

worked fine for a while, it no longer heats and trying to locate a replacement part due to so many variants for this model has been impossible. no help on website and too many variants on the internet to make anourchase to repair the unit. heater coil element assembley is out.

Broke Down Three Times in Less Than Four Years

i purchased this dryer, which was manufactured in 2017, after another samsung dryer that i purchased in 2013 packed up. unfortunately, this one packed up as well.
shortly after the warranty expired, the problems began. i just finished my third service call and now need to buy a new dryer. the heating element needed to be replaced twice and now the motor is broken.
i relayed my concerns to samsung customer service and was told there wasn't anything that could be done as the warranty had expired. i will now purchase my third dryer in eight years. i do not plan to purchase samsung products again as the experience has been both unsatisfactory and costly.
i expect more from an item that is meant to be a durable good.

dv42h5200ep samsung 7.5 cu ft electric dryer failed after 4.5 years. squeaking and rattling noise every time we try to use it. i didn't seen any visible cracks in the drum. rattling and squeaking noise even though i ran an empty load. your one year warranty is useless. i had a ge dryer before and it lasted for more than 10 years.
it worked fine for 4.5 years then suddenly failed. online search shows that others had similar experiences. complaint is that samsung uses products designed to fail in a few years to force you to buy a new dryer. i won't be buying anymore samsung products.

only 3 years, 1 year we had to replace the pully/belt. 2nd year dryer timer stopped working. 3rd year banging noise and the dryer drum is cracking with sharp points

I did a fair amount of research before I bough this washer dryer pair. lots of fetchers and good reviews so I made the decision to buy. for a year or so they were trouble free but then the dryer started making a funny (not funny at all) loud grinding noise. We called for service and apparently the warranty just expired. When the service company arrived he said that was a common problem and it was cheaper to replace the dryer then to repair it. Thant is not the type of equipment I thought I was buying. Now I am nervous about all of my Samsung products? are the reviews even real?

We've had this and the matching washer for only about 3 years. I've been mostly happy with the dryer, but the dryer stopped spinning two weeks ago. The cost to repair was almost as much as a new dryer would cost! Since the washer also leaks, we've just decided to cut our losses and buy something new that is NOT Samsung.

Had to replace the motor just after my warranty expired (only had it for 3 years). When it runs, it dries quickly. Love that it senses the wetness of clothes & doesn't overdry them.

The dryer worked fine for the first 2 years that we had it. As soon as the warranty expired, the heating element inside the dryer failed. That was a $300 repair and Samsung did nothing to help. After having that element repaired, within a week, the dryer started squealing anytime it was being used. So here I am, with a 3 year old dryer, and I have to have it repaired AGAIN. Is it normal for Samsung appliances to last only 3 years.

I bought this product and within 7 months has to change the Dryer Idler Arm Assembly and now 2 years later have to change the Dryer Electronic Control Board and Wires and can't find the parts to get it fixed.

So I absolutely loved this dryer and my washer, but, the dryer is just over two years old and suddenly when I turn it on it has a high pitch squealing (like metal on metal) for about 2-3 minutes. I would understand if this was 10+ years old, but really? 2 years and I have to replace parts already? Really not happy. I bought Samsung because it is a reputable brand and company, did not expect this from Samsung products

Purchased dryer just over two years ago, the dyer started making a loud knocking sound as if we were drying shoes. We then noticed a 1x1 inch hole followed by a crack. Not sure how metal cracks like that, but for as much as someone pays for a dryer it is not okay. I have contacted Samsung, they told me it is out of warranty, they did set up a service call and if the service technician finds that this is a Samsung defect, then Samsung will pay to have it repaired. I will follow up on my review after Friday when the service tech comes out. Not sure how this isn't a defect, it's not like we were drying bricks in our dryer.

I bought this dryer with a washer from Home Depot less than two years ago. The dryer started squealing extremely loudly with any size load. The squeal reduces after a couple minutes, but maintains throughout the cycle. Fortunately for me, I purchased the extended warranty through Home Depot. Depending on the fix, I most likely will not purchase Samsung dryers in the future. Not built for longevity.

We've had it for 2 years and are now replacing a heating element. Our previous Samsung (very similar) lasted 3 years and took a heating element also after 2 years, then at year 3 when the motor failed we bought this one.

Received in perfect condition from the delivery guys.
This is a replacement for my 15 yo Kenmore Elite HE3 front load dryer. Easy to use and dried my clothes much faster and with less wrinkles than my Kenmore.
Haven't used the steam feature yet but if it works as well as the rest it should be great.

Fairly simple and easy to use. Not a bad product at all.
I do extensive review searches before purchasing expensive products and this one did have great product reviews.
Have been using this dryer for roughly 2 years and have had no issues.
Only drawback in my mind is the simplicity of just simply having a tumble with heat in order to unwrinkle your clothes. Usually you have to use the steam method which typically you will have to run the unit for 20 minutes in order to pull something out that isn't damp.
All in all a great product and recommended by me.
