after 3 1/2 years the drum stopped turning. the technician found out that the motor shaft rubs against it's bearing causing a resistance which the motor cannot overcome. obviously wrong choice of material. costs of the motor replacement amounts to half of the cost of a new dryer. fortunately, we have an extended warranty.

when this dryer works it does a good job. it drys fast, has a lot of options and features. my feeling is the gas model/version may be better but the electric one i had was hopeless.
it broke so many times that i literally wound up an expert in how to disassemble and repair it myself and if you laid out the parts in front of me i could assemble the dryer simply from memory.
it got to the point where i kept a supply of spare parts on hand. i finally gave up this last time as i couldn't be repairing the thing every 2-3 weeks during the pandemic.
total garbage, i wanted to go office space on it at the end. not sure what will happen to the samsung washer we bought to go with it, holding my breath... but we replaced this dryer with a different brand.

year 2 belt breaks, year 3 heating element breaks. last i checked a dryer should last more than a year without needing repairs. disgusted!!!

has been less than 2 years since purchasing it and it's on its 3rd costly repair. the heating element has been repaired twice now along with other issues. avoid purchasing this brand.

less than 5 years old, 3 repairs needed, this one costing $400. i gave up on it. the 2nd repair was for an "extremely dangerous" electrical malfunction. samsung doesn't seem to back up the product.

i purchased the matching washer / dryer set 3 years ago. i just ordered the 2nd heating element in 6 months. samsung should only make phones!!! i will never purchase a samsung appliance again.

we've had this dryer little over 3 years and i've had to replace the idler pulley twice. it's a faulty design that ultimately leads to a terrifying screeching noise and a complete failure.

Against my better judgment I went with Samsung washer/dryer. I loved the stackable exactly what I was looking for. The first year working great. Then washer decided not to drain I spoke to a customer service rep and was told to reset. It worked for a quick minute. I have to literally drain the washer after every use. N it takes hours to do a regular wash.
After the 2 year mark the dryer has decided to stop working correctly. I loved the dryer in the beginning but blankets were not being fully dried. I would try drying the sensor because I read it may be the problem. Well it's such a pain when stuff is soaking and dryer keeps shutting. Now the newest issue is the thumping and squeaking. I'm sure something has to be done. Both washer and dryer has been such a disappointment. Im hoping someone could help me out. Does Samsung have repairmen that could come fix ???

Within the first year the drum roller started squealing and had to be replaced. With the second year the same roller was squealing again. In the thied year the heating element went bad. I consider that pretty poor reliability for an expensive appliance. Needless to say we won't be purchasing any Samsung appliances in the near future.

Great features but poor quality of parts being used that customers don't see.
I have purchased my Samsung Dryer 2016. Drum stopped spinning after a year and the belt was changed. It happened again just a year and a half after service.
The belt needs to be changed every 1-2 years? Not worth it!!!!

We bought this machine just after getting married and it died today after only owning it for 28 months. The bearing holding the wheel for the belt. Very frustrating that a machine that cost this much money stopped working after such a short time.

My 4 year old dryer suddenly stopped heating during drying cycle. I contacted Samsung support and they sent me a link to a help article on their website I had already followed. I have invested too much money in parts and I'm not counting the days spent working on this thing. I've replaced the heater coil, thermistor, thermostat, hi temp switch, thermal fuses, power cord, checked voltage. NOTHING WORKS. I contact their support and all they will do is send me the link to the same article I've already followed. The parts replacement was found on youtube and forums of tons of other people having the exact same problem. NOTHING RESOLVED. Will never buy another Samsung product again. I'm ashamed of myself for spending nearly a grand on this thing when it was new.

I have had to fryer for 3.5 years and I have had 5 services calls on it. I have paid more in repairs than the dryer cost brand new. It still doesn't work. I'm switching to another brand and never buying a Samsung product again!!

I bought this after reviewing 6months ago. Granted I reviewed other saying they had for 6 months then broke. So far it hasn't given me any issues. Large drum for drying all bedding. Good product from a good manufacturer.

Horrible quality. We had an older dryer that was nearly 20 years old (from previous owners) and still functioned great, we only replaced it with this Samsung dryer to update the look when we remodeled the laundry room. We loved it at first, and have used it maybe once every 7 to 10 days.... we travel a lot too, so at times may go 3 weeks without using it. In barely 2 years its already broken!! Four months ago it started making terrible screeching sounds, like metal grinding, then banging and whizzing noises. Its so bad we can't run it when we're in the house, now we're afraid it may catch on fire (whatever metal is grinding). We now have the pay $100 + parts & labor for someone to come fix it. If it was 5 or 8 years old sure, but less then 2 years and not often used? I'm also an interior designer and have purchased many appliances for clients and they have all lasted far longer. I will likely not buy Samsung again given how quickly this broke down. Its very disappointing.

We purchased this dryer only 1/12 years ago. Last week we heard a loud thumping sound while the dryer was in use and noticed the drum had a crack. We only do 1-2 loads a week, so this should not have happened. Since we are pass the 1 year warranty, I requested a one time warranty extension, but was denied. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance again!

Dryer was delivered and set up by Lowes approx 3 months ago. Won't dry clotthes, no heat coming out. Samsung repair tech is here now and cannot figure out the problem. Not the heating element he tries replacing, not some other part he tried replacing, might be the board - he's otp with Samsung now trying to figure it out. Do they have a lemon law on dryers?
