this microwave lasted barely a week after the warranty ran out. and had multiple issues within weeks of purchasing. sometimes the vent would work and sometimes not. sometimes it would heat up your food and sometimes it would just let the timer run out and you get still cold food or a quarter popped bag of popcorn. for a 300 dollar microwave this item is garbage. i have used samsung products for years but this has really made me think i need to start looking harder at other manufacturers.

Broke right after installed

we bought this microwave as part of a new kitchen. finally installed it and the stupid thing broke within a month. lights work, turntable, fan, clock, keypad, it just doesn't heat anything now. samsung's website says its warranty is expired, but the paperwork i have says the magnetron has a 10-yr warranty. we'll see if they live up to it, but i'm not going to hold my breath. called customer services and was advised it's an 1-1/2 hour wait. hopefully, i'll get a call back.

purchased this in a set for over $4,000. this week it stopped heating completely. manufactured 5/19, purchased 8/19, out of warranty 8/20, quit working 4/21. the cost to have someone come out will be over $220 at a minimum. don't waste your money just because it looks nice.

this is the worst samsung purchase , they can make some outstanding electronic products but when it comes to this microwave its absolute garbage. i have had this product repaired twice with the warranty - i paid for labor and after a few months the same thing happenned again. they came out again , oh by the way dont expect them to arrive on time i spent an entire day waiting, and here i am again with the same issue. i live a lone and i use it once a day for my meal prep guess thats too much for this product.

i purchased a complete kitchen set of appliances in june 2019, with this microwave being 1 piece. approximately 9 months later, it stopped heating. i had an unpleasant time dealing with the samsung 1-800 representatives before i finally got a service appointment set up. the company that was sent replaced the magnetron and the microwave worked again. it is now jan 3, 2021. this unit is only 1.5 years old. yesterday, it crapped out again and isn't heating. i was told the first time that the warranty won't cover a second fix, if it would be needed. now i am going to be forced to buy another one as it will be cheaper than paying to fix this one. i sure hope the fridge, dishwasher and stove last a lot longer than this microwave.

we got this as part of a suite, it is a lovely microwave to look at and it was a pleasure to use for a bit more than a year. the year warranty ran out in june, thankfully we purchased an extended one through the home depot. the microwave would come on, but not stay on, it would shut down and there was a burning smell. i tried for weeks with samsungs customer service to no avail. the hd, gave us a gift card for a microwave that covered 90% of the cost of a new one. before any of this, this microwave was perfect, heated well, great features like a kitchen timer and such. we're just not thrilled with samsung's handling of our dilemma, we feel they could of done better.

i purchased this microwave over a year ago to replace a non functioning hood. it works wonders! there are 4 fan settings that really get the job done. what i love most is the finish... black stainless steel. beautiful! i love that it's fingerprint resistant, because i have 3 children and you know how bad stainless steel can get with the fingerprints. but that's not a worry of mine. definitely will replace with another samsung microwave when this one's life cycle ends.

i used to be a die-hard samsung fan until i bought these appliances. we bought the whole set, microwave, fridge, oven, dishwasher. they all have let us down within 1-3 years. the microwave finally completely went. the sensor quit working almost immediately for the defrost and reheat. the air filter would pop out into our food on the stove, gross! and finally, the magnetron went. we are replacing it and our stove, the last two samsung products we own. i do not recommend this line. maybe they have a higher-end, but these should have lasted much longer than they did. oh, and we are a household of 2 that don't push our appliances to the limits.

When we moved to our new home in September, 2016,we had to buy all new kitchen appliances. We had a good, quality Samsung TV and Samsung appliances were priced decently with good features. Just over a year after we bought the appliances, the dishwasher broke. It would have cost almost as much to repair as to replace (this was not a cheap, low end dishwasher). We bought a Whirlpool with less bells and whistles, but the quality of the wash and the fact that it still runs after more than a year makes me believe it is superior to Samsung. AND THEN.... the Samsung microwave that came with the suite that we purchased broke (about 18 months after we bought it). Infuriated that the second of four appliances broke, my wife called Samsung. They were nice enough to honor a free repair (after some begging/pleading). A Samsung rep came out to replace the whole front console. Within a month, the microwave broke AGAIN. After more calls to Samsung, they sent another rep to replace the console. AGAIN, WITHIN A FEW WEEKS, IT STOPPED WORKING. Again, Samsung came out to replace the console. This time, instead of just shutting down, it shut down AND overheated to the point where it was so hot inside, we unplugged it and haven't used it for safety concerns. I am very tired of dealing with this piece of junk. I'm worried that the remaining two appliances will break down before they have a normal life. I doubt Samsung cares- but i have told them i will make it my mission to tell my story to anyone who wants to hear it. That includes the builders my wife works with.

I bought an entire suite of Samsung appliances (range, refrigerator, dishwasher and otr microwave) with the black stainless finish ... much to my dismay the handle on the otr microwave is bright stainless while the handles on the other appliances are black stainless ... thinking I may have received a microwave fitted with the wrong handle I contacted Samsung only to be told that the handle on my model was indeed bright stainless … upon asking the rep why it didn't match the handles in the rest of the suite I was told by customer service rep that that's the way it is and it's NO BIG DEAL! … well after spending literly thousands of dollars on the suite I expect the handles to match and it is a big deal to me … the customer … anyway just be aware that Samsung customer service leaves something to be desire

Bought this m/wave along with 3 other Samsung appliances 6 mths ago. Not happy with any of them. Samsung makes great TV's and cell phones but the appliances come up short in my opinion. The clock on the m/wave loses about 1 min/mth. The button for the light is positioned between the timer and turntable on/off button. The various on/off, hi/lo/off positions are a little confusing. The hi/lo/off button has to be pressed exceptionally hard to actuate.

We bought this unit at the end of October as the previous one was over 22 years old. Two weeks after it was installed it failed. The serviceman blamed it on being too near the stove. Over the stove type of unit, and I told him the previous unit had no problem with the stove's heat. Once fixed it worked like a charm. Hopign the next failure will be decades away.

We purchased this with the other bundle of appliances to update our kitchen. Love the look, cooking is powerful and functions are easy to use. My only complaint is the kitchen timer. I used this function ALL the time on my old microwave and it would beep continually until I shut it off when time was up. This allowed me to go do other things in the house. I've resorted to using the timer on the oven, but having the oven time and microwave timer to use previously allowed me to time 2 different items at a time. Again, does not affect functioning of microwave, just a personal preference.

We've had the microwave for two years. It worked fine until the small cheap plastic piece that the door spring connects to broke. Getting someone to help resolve this is very difficult once it is out of warranty. It is hard not to feel like the unit is cheaply made in some areas. I have had this Micro for about 10 Months now and have never been able to cook with it for more than 3 min without it popping the circuit breaker. It seems that even though it says it is 1000 watts it actually pulls 1700 watts and will not work on a 15 AMP Cir that it was wired to, That means if you have a 15 AMP Circuit you are hooking it to and cooking on High, you will draw 14.4 amps which is just below the rating of the Circuit breaker but if you turn on or use anything else that Circuit is on, it blows the breaker. I finally broke down and paid an electrician to wire it as a standalone item on its own 20 amp Circuit breaker and thought that would help. I was able to run it for more than 3 min now but when I tried to cook 2 baked potatoes in it on high for 16 min as per the recipe, (everyone know it takes 8 min per potato on high), it actually stopped working all together and the Circuit breaker was not popped. The screen just went black. I believe it was an internal breaker of sorts for temperature and the Micro was overheating. I purchased a whole set of the charcoal gray appliances for my kitchen when we moved in. I have another Tech coming in 2 days to replace the motor and see if that helps because it is not running at peak either. I would have thought that they would have replaced the Micro by now as this will be the 4th visit in less than a year. I love the design, features and styling, Just wish they could get it working. I fear I may need to replace it with a Competitors product just to have a working Microwave.

Great Replacement for my other brand

We had another brand, "name brand" that broke in less then 3 years of use. Since it was bought as part of a package so all our appliances would match, we were very upset. We did not want to buy that same brand again so went to the web to read reviews of other products. The Samsung was a nicely designed product, love the ceramic interior (it looks like an actual oven) and have used it for 3 weeks now. Absolutely love it. The sensor cooking is an added bonus and works perfectly. Just put a plate in and hit sensor and it is reheated to a perfect temp and evenly. We will definitely be replacing the stove and refrigerator with the Samsung model within the next 2 years.

we bought the samsung for looks, because of the black ss, thinking their technology should be more than fine. in reality, samsung has decided not to find out what's important to people when in the kitchen (can you say fridge with bulit-in tv but terrible ice maker?). the microwave DOES NOT HAVE PRESET MINUTE, TWO MINUTE, ETC functions, so you have to enter in 1-0-0 start, etc, just to do a one minute cooking. the cheapest of microwaves have this on them. also, the microwave has a kitchen timer, but its is quiet and goes off ONCE, leaving it useless if you don'f hear it. further, you CANNOT SET THE TIMER AND THEN ENTER COOK FUNCTIONS. you have to stop/clear the timer to actually cook in the microwave!! how USELESS!

I purchased this along with 3 other Samsung appliances. I had installed exactly one week when it stopped working. Of course, Samsung wanted to send technician out for repair, but was still unable to get it to work. Said he would have to order a part and come back a week later, but doubted it would work. I called Samsung to get unit replaced, but they insisted I wait for repair technician to try again. In the meantime, I am without a working microwave the day before Thanksgiving and a house full of family. Now, I am second guessing my decision to purchase Samsung products. Very unhappy at this time.

This microwave does not have "express" features, like pressing 1 for one minute, 2 for two minutes etc, does not have dual timers -can only time one thing at a time, and is an overall disappointment. I would recommend looking at other models/brands.

This product was installed by previous homeowner in May 2016. I bought the home Sept. 2016. In early August 2017, just two months past the warranty, there was suddenly no power to the unit. We have taken it down, ordered and installed a new control panel and assembly, and still doesn't work. I've almost spent as much as a new unit would cost and still nothing. I would not buy another unit from Samsung.

We just installed our new microwave last Friday (4 days ago) -- we are loving it so far and have not had any issues. Seems like a great microwave -- I would also recommend the rest in this set as we got all 4 matching appliances.

The microwave is nice. It is the second of three products we just purchased from Samsung. My husband installed the microwave himself. It was pretty easy, and took about a half hour. The only issue we have noticed is that the glass turn table appears to come off the spool a little easy, which stops whatever you're microwaving to stop turning.

Our other Samsung OTR microwave (after 5 years) got an SE error. It was much cheaper to replace than to repair our old one. I like this model better than our other one which had the touch pad on the bottom. ( I think steam got in it and caused the error) We were able to install it ourselves in less than 30 minutes. So far so good.

Product in black stainless looks great above Samsung Black SS Range. Very happy with the size, design and appearance. Only had for a day and find the key features to be very easy to use.

Recently moved from a villa to a house. Hated to leave our last Samsung fridge behind but knew that we'd buy a whole new suite of Samsung appliances at our new house. New black stainless French door fridge, slide in oven and microwave were all installed recently. Love the look, features and operation of all three!

The soft melt is wonderful for baking when you need butter softened. Popcorn and the reheat options are our some of our favorites. Also the sensor to reheat is so comforting to know that your items won't be too hot as they turn out just perfect.
