this is truly the worst refrigerator and it was one of the most expensive ones on the market. we are continually disappointed by this unit. within six months, the fridge started leaking and the ice maker started to freeze up. we quickly found out there were class action lawsuits outstanding for samsung's freezer units.
two replacements of the ice maker and we still do not have working ice. now the flex drawer, if opened, creates a short and the entire refrigerator shuts off. the whole thing. i hate this fridge and wish that samsung had to make right these errors. no one should be able to be in business selling refrigerators if this is the quality of the product they put out into the marketplace.

i bought this refrigerator in 2019. i researched countless fridges online and in store and ultimately fell in love with the design of this fridge, however, the design doesn't make up for one major problem we have encountered. it worked well the first year or so but then we started having issues with the ice maker. this wouldn't be such a problem if we hadn't bought this machine with the intent to use ice on a daily basis or the fact that a machine worth over $2k has such a defect. anyways, the ice maker constantly freezes over. even with emptying it once a week i still had the same problem. i went online and found a workaround on youtube and plan to see if that fixes it. we shall see! for now, i'm not recommending this fridge, but may edit my review if the youtube workaround works!

i have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. i swear the ice maker has broken 3x. the icemakers was once replaced. the digital panel for the middle drawer is garbage. that was even replaced. i am really not happy with this refrigerator. i wish that i never wasted my money purchasing this. lately the icemaker has been accumulating ice, freezing over and jamming. i have to manually take the ice out of the jam on the side of the wall. it's very frustrating. the freezer drawer is a joke too.

Terrible fridge w/ ice maker + cooling issues

we've had nothing but problems with this fridge over a 3 year span. the first fridge we received was doa and that should have been a sign to buy another brand. the second unit we received has been serviced 4-5 times for the ice maker and not cooling the middle drawer or freezer. we've paid hundreds of dollars to have the ice maker repair kit installed (which did nothing). the service tech found that the fan comes unplugged which limits cooling in the freezer and middle drawer causing unsafe temperatures and is a design issue. i would strongly suggest looking at other brands and am on the verge of filing a consumer complaint with our state ag.

i bought a samsung because of my experiences and their reputation in the industry. i shouldn't have! after reading all of the bad reviews based on the ice box freezing up, i really should have known better. after a year my ice cube box froze up. i called to see about getting repaired (1 month past the 1year) and was told that i had to pay for a repair first. samsung acknowledged there was an issue and they still wanted me to pay, such bad service. now after 2.5 years, the control panel is giving me error codes. now i have a frozen ice box and a glitched out control panel, all of this on a $3000+ fridge on a 2.5 year fridge. unexceptionable.

i am not a review writer, and i own a bunch of samsung items, tv's, but this might he the end of the appliances at least i think. when researching this fridge about 2 years ago, i read some bad things on the ice maker, and just kind of figured it was a couple people having issues as my last fridge fron samsung was flawless. then, about 6 months in, the icemaker started icing up. constantly. never had ice and keep a flat blade screwdriver handy to chisel it out about once a week. then a few months later, the pitcher wouldn't fill. then the water wouldn't work at all. figured it was a bad filter since i had recently changed, but a swap out confirmed it was not the filter. if you want a glass of water, you just remove the filter every time and it resets some sort of pressure solenoid.

huge mistake buying this fridge. had icemaker issues 2-3 times. now the fridge is making a loud noise from the back panel like water is leaking. of course, it's out of warranty. i should have bought a kitchenaid or lg instead.

i purchased this refrigerator about 3 years ago.
about a year and a half ago the ice maker started freezing up and would stop making ice.
luckily we purchased the extended warranty from lowes. to get the warranty honored is a pain, but better than nothing. in any event the service technician came out and placed the icemaker assembly.
the repair didn't last 6 weeks before the same problem occurred.
not i have one month left on the extended warranty and i am going to call them tomorrow and try to get this fixed again.
it's very disappointing as i like everything about the refrigerator.
now if this does not work, i am going to have to spend another 3+ thousand dollars to get a new refrigerator.

i have had several unaddressed and ongoing issues with my previous generation samsung refrigerator of this model:
1. ice maker accumulates frost and freezes up making the ice maker and dispenser inoperable. it also somehow leads to melted ice leaking out of the ice dispenser when initially trying to dispense ice. the ice maker has been repaired 3 times and is now broken again for the 4th time.
2. frost accumulation and "freezer burn" in the freezer. this has never been addressed. the technician on one one visit claimed it was because "i did not have enough food in the freezer." on the the next service visit, a different technician said it was because "there was too much food in the freezer."
a $3,600 appliance failing multiple times in the first few years of ownership are unacceptable.

i expected more from samsung. the ice maker is worthless. works for a few days, and then freezes up and you need to defrost. known problem with samsung, as a on-line tech walked me through how to fix.

ice machine is terrible, will freeze up within weeks once the ice is cleared. i've had a samsung fridge previously that did not experience any issues, appears to be a design flaw in this model.

just over a year old and i noticed leaking from the ice machine. while cleaning the fridge i saw mold is now growing..also i took out the ice bucket and rust was found on the ice. not happy

For the price and features I think this is a great Fridge. Unfortunately another fridge had issues and this one met all our needs and cost was 1,000 less then our original.
We love the extra drawer that can be fridge or freezer. We use it as the snack drawer. The shelves can move easily and make more room when required. It's pretty, and finger resistance is great. It's not 100% smudge proof but much better than any fridge I've had before. I like the shelves in the door too, lots of room.
The door on left - ice maker side, has odd basket sizes (to make room for ice), however that is the side I open least - so I put items on that side that we don't use often (extra butter, curry paste). Our every day items like coffee creamer, milk, yogurt and condiments are on the right side for easy access.
The water pitcher is flakey. It worked the first few times and now I can't get it to refill at all. It's not a show stopper but would be nice if it did what it's suppose to, For now I just fill it from the sink. Some others complain about the small amount of ice, I disagree. Unless you are filling a cooler everyday, it makes a good amount, I was sure to first fill the bucket in the freezer, then we use that for guest and daily we use the door feature when ice is needed.
Customer service is a little flakey too. Be sure to register and update your warranty once received. The expiration date is based on when it was sold to the store you bought from, so be sure to change this to your date purchased- however you must submit a ton of proof. I've been rejected multiple times, because they aren't looking at the two documents I submit. They only look at the 1 receipt which doesn't have all the info they need -but the info is on the attached order documentation. Since my previous fridge died (another brand) I'm passionate about being sure the warranty is up to date.
I would recommend the fridge and many Samsung products, just be prepared for many phone calls, emails or chats and much documentation if anything ever goes wrong. Many individuals, reject quickly without cross referencing the details the hours involved sometimes exceed the cost of your product which I think is silly.

I bought this in March 2018 when my old refrigerator was going to die after 13 years. I got the add-ons of handles and all stainless steel on the inside. This is the best refrigerator on the market hands down. Great ice maker and it even has a water container on the left door that I use to make ice tea with. Great design and has all the compartments that you could desire.
