this fridge i loved. absolutely loved. then the issues started. ice maker quit one day. started freezing. then i found out from friends the issues with these models. nearly all of their models have issues and poorly made equipment inside. lots of users have the same issue and samsung is refusing to consider it a defect issue. when everyone has the same issues across years of products it has more than a hiccup. i wish they would put out better quality material and appliances. their reputation on the line and their expectations should be of customer satisfaction. i'd pay more for better quality and a product they would back fully.

Lots of capacity but not practical

Icemaker is in top of frig compartment. Unless you dispense ice every few hrs., the ice will freeze together and won't dispense well and you get a lot of 'crushed ice' with the cubes. Frig roomy but not well compartmentized. Have to move or dig around items to get to most things. Have to open both doors to open wide bottom tray.

I wasn't sure if I should purchase this model or the one with additional drawer and features. I'm glad I picked this one. My previous fridge was a side by side. This fridge has tons of space. the shelves are deep and adjustable, so perfect for storing larger dishes. The shelves on the left door are small due to the ice maker/water dispenser, but fit jams, smaller jars. I was unsure how comfortable it would be to have the freezer so low - and without lots of shelves. It's actually better. The shelves are deep and holds the veggies, meats, etc while the tray holds all the everyday items my kids eat.

We've only had the fridge for about 3 weeks but so far we are happy with the performance. We like the black stainless steel because it does not show fingerprints like regular stainless steel does. The inside is roomy and the design is good. Freezer also has lots of room and performs well.

Great Refrigerator

We've had this refrigerator 7 months without any major problems. It keeps things very cold especially in the freezer, much better than our old refrigerator of a different make. We like having the double doors on the front. It holds a lot of food and the door shelves hold all the condiments. We chose this one to get the bigger ice maker and some of the other brands had a very small ice maker. We have Samsung phones and tablets and decided to try their refrigerator. We weren't disappointed. I have only one small complaint which I'll be talking to Samsung about and that the fact that the writing above the one vegetable drawer has worn off already. Not a big thing but annoying as far as the aesthetics of the refrigerator go. Also we like the black stainless because it doesn't show dirt or prints so it was worth the extra $100 we paid for it.

We purchased the newer black stainless finish. It is gorgeous. We also love the interior of the refrigerator. The serving drawer is handy. Make up trays of food ahead of time and store them in the drawer. The bottom freezer works out great for us. So far, we are enjoying this refrigerator very much!

wrong energy rating ported at store

When I was shopping at Home Depot this was the most energy efficient model of this size available at all the local stores. After asking questions and shopping around we bought this model. When it was delivered from the warehouse the energy rating was almost double the one at the showroom. I went back to Home depot who told us that the floor model must be last years model. The claimed that Samsung started using a different factory and cheaper parts which must make it less energy efficient. I wish I would have known that before I made such a large purchase.

Great style & features for price

I was very hesitant to by a Samsung fridge. Maybe it is just me and knowing the old Kenmore/Whirlpool/GE/Maytag brands that have been in the appliance business for a long time. However it seems that most of the appliances we saw at various box stores was Samsung, LG, GE. Did a lot of research and had found lots of good things about all and also a few problems with each. Since they were all pretty much comparable to each other in features and price it came down to overall styling. We went with the Samsung because the lines are more eye pleasing and the interior shelving seemed to be layed out slightly better. We have had this unit for 3 weeks. So far the screen for the ice/water/temp is tempremental. It dings every time you switch cubed to crushed ice or water which is fine. At times the touch screen stops working and you are stuck with what ever it is on. Good thing I was able to reach behind to the outlet to unplug it for 10 sec. If my outlet was located in a different spot would have been more ticked off. Multiple nights now I have heard the thing switching cubed /crushed ice or just dining and showing the temp in irratic spazums. Every couple seconds or 30 seconds or 10 minutes would go into a dinging friendsy. I have had enough and will be contacting customer service.... IF customer service can take care of this professionally, quickly and as painless as possible I would continue to recommend. Otherwise I will have to say to stay away.

We purchased this fridge in the black stainless and it is gorgeous!! I keep looking at it just because it is so good looking....lol Love the features it has, Nice lighting and lots of room. Some of the reviews I've seen complain that the fridge is noisy. It is very quiet in my opinion. Love where they put the water filter. Very easy to get to.If there is one thing I don't care about is the doors don't open as wide as I would like, but it's a minor detail. I totally recommend this fridge! If you haven't seen the black stainless, check it out!!! It is sexy!!

Love my new Samsung French Door Refrigerator

I've only had my new refrigerator for a week now but absoutely love it. We purchased ours at Best Buy and their customer service was oustanding. Best Buy and Samsung worked collaboratively to do an exchange because the first frig had some minor defects and the exchange was quick and painless. I love the black stainless color in my kitchen and it doesn't show the finger prints.

The delivery people were great and setup the ice maker for us. We got the frig because my Mom and Husband were tried of hitting their head on the old frig and not being able to see into it unless the bent down or got on their knees. Now they can see into the new frig with no problem and the lights on the top and sides help a lot.
