The worst product I've ever bought

this fridge has an existing design flaw that samsung seems to refuse to acknowledge. the entire cooling core freezes up, stopping the fan from working stopping all air flow leading to the ice machine also clogging up. i've defrosted it 3 times only for it to happen again weeks later. there is a complicated fix for this i came across online but i'm not a repair man, and i shouldn't have to be just 5 years into buying a 4000 dollar fridge. now samsung wants to charge me to fix it, they should do this for free on all of these models because it's their poor design that led to these problems. never buy a samsung fridge, ever.

The Ice Maker

i use the fridge a lot everything is fine on it. however, the ice maker failed after about 12 months of use. by failing i mean it allows condensation to collect and then the ice gets stuck. the defrost feature does little to nothing to alleviate the frosting problem. because of this, i am giving a one star rating for the french door refrigerator.

ice maker problems!!! nothing but a huge problem since day 1 couldn't have it repaired because they said parts were not available!!! the ice has accumulated so much its where the door wont close and i cannot get it to thaw and it will not turn off. i cannot un plug it becuase i will lose my freezer food. im about to take it to the dump!!!

ice maker froze over within 1 year of buying and spent the next couple months hacking ice out or using a hairdryer . a quick search would have saved me cause its flooded with reports of problems with most samsung ice makers which according to most buyers craps out right about when the warranty expires. god forbid samsung acknowledges the problems ,offers some kind of fix and makes it right with theyre customers. im now stuck without an ice maker till i get sick of buying ice at the store and finally buy a fridge/freezer that works and put this junk out in the garage.

this refrigerator is only 5 years old and having the ice maker repaired for the 3rd time. had another brand that lasted 20 years and this one broke within the 1st year. had the icemaker repaired day after thanksgiving 2 years ago for the second time and here we are again with the same problem. samsung company fixed it last time and i assumed it would have been fixed correctly, but i was sadly mistaken. the samsung rep that came out was rude and told me he knew how to to his job when i was asking questions and telling him what the rep said needed to be done with the ice maker in order for it to be fixed correctly. i was clarifying the problem, not telling him how to fix it. i just did not want to go through this again. last samsung product i will ever buy!

samsung discontinued critical repair parts a year after releasing it. when i bought it 4 yrs ago it was high rated. after a year, ice maker died, was fixed out of warranty despite being manufacturer errors. could only use crush ice but least it worked. then it started leaking all over floor, replaced all seals, then after a month leaking all over floor again. lather rinse repeat until now the unit freezes up entirely and has to empty whole fridge to defrost ice maker every other day. The company appears to not support their own equipment and apparently leaves you hanging. shame too because before this 5k mistake I was a huge flag waver for samsung electronics.

this is a beautiful refrigerator. it's just a shame that the ice maker just suddenly stopped. i am following the suggestions in the owner's manual and have pressed the reset button (over 48 hours ago), and still.....no ice. i did do a search over the internet to locate the reset button and also found that this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.

things began poorly 3 years ago when we had to deal with a scratched door and tried getting it replced after they agreed to replace it and give us money to keep it instead of returning for a new refrigerator. then the icemaker froze over. they replced it and it has continured ever since. we now have a broken shelf that only has two small screw in small pastic tips to support a shelf that pulls out in the door. poor design as it snapped less than a year after we bought it. now both side have snappd. i will never own a samsung appliance ever again!

this samsung product was purchased in 2017. it is now september of 2020 and our samsung products failed to give us trouble free service. the stove knob has broken and had to be replaced and burners won't light and the logo has melted off. the fridge ice maker stops working every few weeks and i have to chisel it out due to the design. i don't feel i would recommend samsung appliances given my experience with them.

we purchased an entire kitchen of samsung products in april of 2017. i was so excited because in was my very first full set of new appliances and i cook every day. it is now september of 2020 and every single appliance has failed except the microwave. this stove and the dishwasher no longer work. the stove has a broken knob, the samsung logo has "melted" off, the exterior color is peeling off, and it will no longer heat up. the stormwash dishwasher also no longer works as well... it has standing water that does not pump out. the refrigerator ice maker stops working every month and i have to chisel it out due to the poor design. i will never purchase samsung appliances again. but i will be purchasing something since i can no longer cook with the oven!!!!!

first off, i love the fridge aesthetically. we bought it brand new in february 2019 for my first house. it has many pleasing features, however the right door does not stay open, it slams shut. we have had 4 service tech visits and they basically have said don't put anything in the door and it will stay open. that's a completely unacceptable solution. i purchased the fridge for the additional door storage and it serves zero benefit to us especially considering the left door has almost no storage. the other thing is the ice maker. we have had to completely shut it off because again, no one can figure out what's wrong with it. they always say it's fine but it completely freezes and/or it doesn't dispense the ice at all. i am tired of fighting with samsung and home depot to fix the issues.

fridge is great, except the ice maker. major design flaw allows "warm" air from the fridge to get into the ice maker, condense, then freeze causing it to fail. every couple of months we have to chisel out ice to make it work. seems to effect pretty much every samsung fridge with built in ice maker. pretty cool for a $2400 fridge. and they won't stand behind it and fix it. never buying samsung again.

fridge seems to be engineered for ac homes rather than typical homes in north. summers are short but days can be in the 80's or 90's. most homes do not have ac. fridge temps go up with outside temps.

for as expensive as this product is, you would think the ice maker would work correctly. it freezes up and has to be thawed at least monthly, makes loud noises, or just plain does not work at all.

lots of problems with ice maker. repaired after 14 mo. broke again...freezes up. looks like old ones before self defrosting. why doesn't samsung make a replacement unit that will work????

Like the fridge 5/17/2019

Bought this 2.5 weeks ago already had service out and they called Samsung . The service man Roberto had taken the front slide out off because it was broke and you can totally see that it was a factory thing the screws were screwed to tight and the plastic was broke. Steve at Samsung was so rude and denied any responsibility for it. Called Lowe's and service rep there Karen took care of this and is sending a new part she was extremely helpful and I would recommend Lowe's any day

Would be a Great Refrigerator except for Ice Maker

Not Happy in Lehigh 5/9/2019

Took delivery in October 2018, and had Ice Maker replaced in February 2019. Three months later, same problem. It's apparent this is a chronic problem with this model, because my neighbor has same Refrigerator and same ice maker problems.

Great execpt for unfixible ice maker

Ice maker leaks even after three service visits where every part of it was replaced at least once. It requires about an hour every month to clean out ice so the ice machine works and it doesn't build up enough to cause further damage. Other than that, it is a fantastic fridge but you're rolling the dice if you buy one as there are plenty of other people with the same problem. Samsung either can't or won't fix this. Either way it is unacceptable
