Great design, poor execution

Looks good but icemaker takes 1-2 minutes to dispense any ice. Poor temperature uniformity. Temperature settings on the control panel are inacurrate. Food in the door is always too warm.

My wife wanted this because it looks nice. I will give it that. The shelves inside don't adjust. Why? You are left with so much space between each shelf that we had to buy plastic shelves to stack food on. Oh, and the worse ice maker of any refrigerator I have ever had. First off, waiting for ice to come out, I swear it's being made as you wait. If you lucky you will get cubed ice. We usually get cubed/crushed at all times. It is also always going back to crushed on the door when we only use cubed Never again Samsung.

Nail polish Smell

This refrigerator came with a new home we purchased. We estimate the unit is about 2-3 years old. Over the past 3 months, it has developed a very strong chemical smell. We researched it online to find there were numerous people having the same issue, but Samsung was not willing to assist them. With the 1 year warranty expired, and the unit cooling just fine, we are now on our own. Our only option at this point is to replace a perfectly good 3K refrigerator because we cannot get any help with the smell. We contacted Samsung and had an authorized service facility come out, but they refused to help or even acknowledge the smell. A subsequent visit by our home warranty company confirmed the smell but they too were unable to assist. If Samsung stood by this product I would be happy to recommend it. But I should not be put in a position of needing to replace the refrigerator because some material is off-gassing to such a degree that our food picks up the taste.

We've lived with our Samsung Food ShowCase for about 2 years and although we are happy with it, I have a few comments about the design. The full door (top handle opening both doors) is pretty heavy and really has to be yanked open even when the outer shelves aren't full. And the touch panel above the water & ice dispenser is very sensitive. You don't realize you've bumped into it until you notice it quit making ice. The reset instructions on it could be more intuitive. But what inspired me to review it is I've just pinched my finger between the fridge and freezer doors again. Not fun! If they were 1/4"closer or further apart that wouldn't happen.

In less than a year it is over cooling food to the point it's freezing food on the refridgerator side. Parts replaced and still not working now a day later I call back to Samsung and as of 7/25 still no return visit because the of HORRIBLE communication between Samsung and service provider which requires me to call back and ask agent to add parts and labor to ticket which never happens. I'm on my 4th attempt to make this happen and as of 8/7 refridgerator still not working efficiently.

This is a great refrigerator, with one major drawback, that is the stainless finish. This thing smudges even if you just get close to it. WHY would anyone want stainless?? We got the stainless because it was the best of two evils. Every black stainless sitting on every showroom we looked at had scratches, all of them no matter which brand. And every stainless refrigerator regardless of brand had smudges and look terrible. Well we needed a refrigerator and wanted Samsung because of the features it has. The refrigerator is only a week old and up to now we are 100% happy with it with the major exception of the stainless as I have already said. There does need to be more adjustability of the shelves they say they are adjustable but by far not enough options. The ice maker makes ice nicely but it does have a couple small areas that need improvement. When you first press the lever for ice it has to decide what kind of ice you need and takes a few seconds before any ice is dispensed. It also always upon the first couple of ice cubes makes a little bit of crushed ice. The door could give more room for a larger glass to be put under the dispenser as well. These are a few nit picks but nothing that hurts the performance or design of this refrigerator. The compressor runs very silently with just a hum if you are close enough to hear it nothing you can hear in another room like some refrigerators. I was very surprised on how fast it got down to temperature after setup and it holds the temperature nicely. The ice machine took a while to make it's first batch of ice but the manual tells you it can take up to 24hrs. After making it's first batch of ice the bin filled up fast and has a generous amount of ice holding capacity. The water filter is easy to change. One other thing that needs improvement is the bottom bins do not pull out far enough to easily get the items that are in the back of the bin. There are three such bins and the upper most bin just does not pull out far enough only about half way. I still give this refrigerator five stars because the plusses far outweigh the small nit picks, now if only some major manufacturer would give more color options other than white black or stainless they would hit the jackpot. Everyone I know are completely fed up with their stainless appliances.

Have had this appliance just over two weeks. Extremely quiet and CONVENIENT! Love, love, love the showcase door! Refrigerator ultra roomy and bright with LED lighting. Freezer drawers a big plus. Helpful that ice maker is completely in the door. Exterior easy to keep clean, including water/ice area. Desirable flat front design with no handles sticking out.

I have to say, I am extremely disappointed in this product and I am normally a fan of Samsung products. I bought this refrigerator last year and have already had to replace the ice making unit (thankfully I got the warranty). But my biggest complain is that the water filter needs to be replaced every month, they tell you that it needs to be replaced every 5-6 months!! They are not cheap and they claim that it is due to the water quality. There should be a warning sign when they sell the product. On top of that, I accidentally cracked the plastic cover on the bottom drawer, I called Samsung and they gave me the part number and where to buy it from. I order the part (shipping was half the cost of the part), it turns out the Samsung Customer Service agent gave me the wrong part number. Now I have to pay to ship the part back and pay for shipping of the actual part I needed. Can't tell you how upset I am!

Problems with the refrigerator door bins.

FYI: After 2 1/2 years all three of the larger (9x14) bins have finally cracked completely across the bottom and can no longer hold any items in them. They started to crack on the left and right side where they attach to the door and then it extends completely across the bottom. There has been no unusual or abusive treatment. Just wanted you to know about this problem. Never had trouble with my 7 year old Whirlpool bins. It will cost $177.33 to replace them. Otherwise, I like the refrigerator. But am not looking forward to replacing the bins in another 2-3 years, if I am lucky and they still manufacture them.

The showcase is a good feature. However, this unit has a GIANT deficiency. It does not get cold enough to protect your refrigerated food! It does not get below 43 degrees on any shelf, and the top ones are between 45 and 50 degrees. Door temp is also close to 50 degrees. Also, the lack of a meat/cool drawer means you'll be throwing away a lot of expensive meat if you don't use it the same day you buy it. This is my first and last Samsung appliance.

Pretty but design issues

This is our second Samsung fridge and this one is nicer than the last. However, this one too has some design issues. We have owned it almost 2 years now and here is what I don't like about it. Though it's only 1.5 years old we are giving it to a family member and I am buying a fridge made in the USA. The first thing I don't care for is the shelves do not adjust. Secondly the water from the dispenser does not come out cold and it should. The third thing I don't like about it is when you try to dispense ice it take like 4-5 seconds for anything to happen. It feels like 10-15 seconds and it's frustrating. It's like give me my ice already I have things to do. The fourth thing that I didn't know would be an issue but is, is that my young kids can only open the outer door because when you grab the door down below that is the only door that will open. You have to grab the door up high for both the inner and outer door to open. So now they open the outer door then push the outer door all the way open till it pops the inner door open. I'm sure something is going to break soon too because of it. The last thing that I have an issue with on this fridge was also an issue with our previous Samsung fridge which we also gave to another family member. The vary logo on the door that says Samsung, the logo that represents the brand is a silly sticker. If I were to design and make a fridge I would make a logo that is something more substantial that a sticker. Why is this an issue. Well on our first Samsung when we would have to oil the early gen stainless fridges the oil would release the adhesive and float the sticker our of position. So then I found myself having to realign the letters in the Samsung logo. There is nothing major wrong with this fridge. It still works and does most of what it should. However, these design issues I will no longer put up with. It's getting a new home and I am going to focus my search around a refrigerator manufacture who has been making fridges for+ years and have already overcome these issues. That's what is leading me to something made in the USA.

I had the refrigerator installed on a 83 degree afternoon and within 2 hours the freezer was at 0 degrees and the fridge was at 34 degrees. very impressive for a 29 cubic foot refrigerator. The compressor is very quite and lighting is good. Would give it 5 stars if the shelf's had more adjustments

This has to be the best looking side-by-side refrigerator in the market. Beautiful and elegant design. If it was a car, I'd say it was a Audi. Love the door in the door feature. Kids can easily take out milk, juices etc. Some online reviewers had said that fridge had trouble maintaining temp levels in the fridge section. I have 3 young kids that are always opening the fridge and saw no issues with temp. Not that I tested scientifically. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. It looks nice, has a lot of space, nas has useful features. Only thing I'd like to see improved upon is to allow more customization in where to place bins etc inside.

love the look of the unit but miss a few things about my old one. I have to say the ice dispenser is super slow to give you ice. Once you fill up the fridge the led lights in the front are weak and wont light up the lower back section and the drawers giving you a feeling of a busted light bulb. the amount of ice in the dispenser is not enough to fill up a tiny cooler. The first shelf is too close to the top and very tight for large juice jugs.

Disappointed In Refrigerator Temperature Control

The temperature control on the refrigerator side of this product is poor. I have to set the desired temperature to 34 (the lowest it can be set) to get the interior of the refrigerator to 40. Products stored in the showcase door are usually at 43 or 44 degrees. This condition exists even when all doors have been closed for at least 12 hours. I have checked the interior temps with three different thermometers that I know to be accurate and get the same readings from all three. The temperature control on the freezer side works fine. I keep the energy saver feature of this product is always off due to the temperature problems. I would not recommend this product.
