Bearings went out after 2+ years

the bearings went out after 27 months. the washer won't go into the spin cycle. samsung no longer makes the bearings, so you have to purchase the entire tub. you also have to use a certified samsung repair service company, which charges at least 2x times other repair companies. the estimate repair cost is $350 labor and $500 for the tub. that's more than i paid for the washer. i purchased the washer from costco, so i had a 2 year warranty, but unfortunately the washer broke down 3 months after the warranty expired. very disappointed in this product. i would not recommend any samsung appliances.

have had this machine for almost 4 years and would've considered it to be very good, however just this week the spin cycle became unbearable loud and the back bearing went out on it. repair cost doesn't even make it worthwhile. shouldn't have broken down so soon, especially with only about 3-4 loads a week. machine should last at least 7 years.

purchased less than 3 years ago and the main bearing is gone. to make matters worse, we called a technician to come diagnose and repair and he explained that this part is no longer available. so now i have to buy a completely new washing machine. very poor value for the price

this is my 2nd samsung washer. we purchased this washer in january 2017 at best buy. the 1st samsung washer was recalled. we decided to buy samsung again for another try with the recalled check. however, we wasted our money. we purchased geek squad service. we called geek squad service several times during 3 years for different issues. then, it stopped washing and filling the water during the cycles in march 20020. we had to use pause/start to continue the cycle. it happened during covid 19. geek squad service was expired. we called samsung many times to report the problem. it was bad technical error. don't waste your money.

Great Features, but Poor Performance

Things started off great, but ended miserably. About 3 1/2 years into this investment, the washer began shaking violently and making a noise as loud as a freight train. In fact, the pedestal bent due to the shaking. Unbelievable! I did not purchase the extended warranty offered by the store where I purchased the machine because I have a home warranty. Well, the home warranty company sent the same repair company out here twice, and a different company the third time, all within a week. I was told that the drum was the problem, and that the time it would take to repair it was not worth it, so they offered to replace it with a different brand. However, it would not match the Samsung Dryer that was purchased as a set. The only alternative was to accept payment for less than what I paid for my Samsung washer. When I called Samsung about the issue, I was told that they could send someone out to diagnose the problem, but it would be at a cost to me. The additional repair cost would depend on whether I could show that the machine had been properly maintained. Really? At that point I thought it may be best to simply use the home warranty money towards another machine. However, when I contacted the store where I made the purchase, they didn't even carry this machine any longer, despite Samsung indicating on its website that it was available at that location. In fact, NONE of the locations on Samsung's website carry this machine any longer. Instead, they all only offer a smaller version (4.5 cu ft size) of the same machine. When I informed Samsung about the inaccuracy of the availability of the machine on their website, they finally admitted that it was discontinued and steered me to either the 4.5 cu. ft. machine or something newer and more expensive. Well that tells me that there is definitely something wrong with the 5 cu ft AddWash machine! While I love the features and design, the performance is awful. I have Samsung products all over my house. At the very least it would seem that Samsung would stand by its product and make this right with the customer.

First issue.: I bought this washer and matching dryer about 8 months ago from Samsung directly and starting with installation we had issues and still dealing with issues. The delivery guys didn't install the washer correctly which ended up water leaking from my second floor to first floor resulted ceiling repairs in newly constructed house. Contacted Samsung about the issue but no one did call me back or apologized for the inconvenience. Second issue: excessive vibrating and shaking issue Since I purchased the matching I already had two service done for excessive vibration and shaking issues. The first technician was like you can not install this washer on second floor this washer is made for basement or first floor at same time Samsung is promoting this washer as quite and made for second floor "you can do laundry on second floor while Kids are sleeping " completely inaccurate diacription to sale this product. The second technician came and said same thing but this time he was like nothing is wrong with machine but pedestal might have issue and he said they won't handle pedestal issue and I have to call Samsung again to resolve this issue. I spent lots of money to buy all Samsung appliances for my house but I should have listen to my friends and invest in LG at least like them I wouldn't have issue using laundry on second floor. Don't buy if you have laundry on second floor. Even Samsung technician are saying this washer is not made for second floor.

Foolishly thinking that Samsung washers are as good as their phones. Bearings broke in about two years (family of five and using two washers) and the flange shaft is all corroded. More than $600 to fix (original cost $1,100). Should have listened to friends and bought an LG.

I bought this washer just under two years ago and the first thing to go, literally days after the warranty was up, was the locking mechanism. It doesn't always catch. There is nothing in the way, but the locking mechanism will not catch unless I stand and hold the door closed with my body weight behind it until it clicks. Then a few weeks ago the front door started leaking. Gallons of water covered my laundry room floor. I called customer service and they said they would contact a third party repair service to come check out the washer but I was responsible for payment. Okay, but no one contacted me. It's been weeks now and no one has called to repair my washer and I don't know the company they use. I will research more, but again, Samsung said they would handle that. Then this morning (after I held the door closed and made sure it patched) I came back to find that the washer had turned itself off without running. So I started the load again, held the door, and waited for it to start. Then I came back an hour later to completely soaked laundry. The washer had finished the cycle without spinning out the water. I am so fed up with this washer. Complete waste of money.

We brought this washer 2 months ago. we find that this washer doesn't drain the water out and alot water sits in the front under the rubber, and where you put the washer liquid. We take out the liquid department to pour out water and use paper towers dry the water under rubber. this waher cost to much for all of this work after you wash your cloths.

Seemed to be doing fine. Looks nice, runs quietly. AND THEN The front door started leaking water onto the floor. I have barely had the machine a year. Which of course means they won't cover it with warranty anymore. I was warned by plenty of people that the products don't last, now I guess I will be out a few $100 dollars to fix a broken door. There is absolutely no reason for the door to break down after only a year. Ugh. So so frustrating.

The washer started giving me problems about 6 months after purchase, it wouldn't drain the clothes and/or spin. Called Samsung and they didn't do anything. Somehow it started working again, so i figured okay it's good now. Well now I am having the same issue, however, I am now out of the warranty and will probably have to buy an entire new set, and it will not be SAMSUNG.

We are disappointed in the drain pump stopping leaving us without a washer for a week. I called Samsung at we are past the warranty period so they will not even pay for the part. Amazing that with our old Kenmore for half the price it lasted 10 years before a problem and this one not even two years in.

After reading several reviews on this washer, I was impressed enough to seek it out. Found a great deal on the pair and brought it home. Overall, it is a good washer. Gets the dirt out and looks sleek. My biggest issue with it is the noise! It is the LOUDEST washer I have ever heard. I have it upstairs in a room and when it hits the rinse/spin cycle it sounds like Niagara Falls. I can hear all the water rushing in to the tub then back out. When it hits spin, you think a plane is taking off in the house. Based on this alone, I am not sure I would recommend this to people.

Been waiting 2 months for a replacement electrical panel for my washer that is 1 year old. Samsung is unable to replace parts quick enough leaving my family of 6 to use a laundry mat. This washer is my second Samsung washer. The first washer I purchased for my new home was in 2015. I bought the Samsung Active Wash, washing machine. Since my product had been recalled I upgraded to the new Add Wash washing machine. Which was back in April 2017. In September 2017 the washing machine starts making this horrible LOUD humming noise, almost like its going to shoot to the moon. The washer is under the year warranty but that doesn't help the fact that I have been waiting almost 4 weeks for a new replacement washer. Its been a headache just to deal with Samsung and best buy. If my new Samsung washer gives me any trouble I am switching brands and will NEVER go with Samsung again...

Ever since this "Green" life style was forced upon us & agitators were removed from washing machines, actual cleaning of dirty clothes took a back seat to carbon footprints... lol. Our last top-load machine was recalled & the refund went towards this machine. We decided on a front load, due to the lack-luster performance of the top load non-agitator style. The difference was like night & day, using the same detergent. My shirts smelled clean again, stains started disappearing & they were much softer. The only drawback that I can think of is that the music can't be changed.

This is a replacement for my older Samsung washer which went belly up. We bought another Samsung because we liked the other machine so much. So far (I have only had it for a couple of weeks) I couldn't be happier with this machine. Have done approximately 15 loads of laundry in it and it has cleaned so well and seems to be gentle on all of my laundry. I hope it holds up for many years. I will be writing another review if it doesn't. I am a happy Samsung customer.

This is a good washer...our first front loader, and overall its a pleasure to use compared to our old top loader. However I have a few complaints that make me uncertain if I would buy this again: 1. The "AddWash" feature is virtually useless. If you want to add items to the wash, it is easier to just push pause and open the normal door. Meanwhile the extra trap door adds depth to the size of the washer, makes it harder to see inside the washer, and creates extra parts to worry about keeping dry after use. 2. The "hot" water cycles are not hot. The "Very hot" cycle does get very hot, but it is a 2 1/2 hour cycle. For a normal hot water wash, it will be barely warm. It is not clear if this is completely because of government regulations, and therefore every brand of washer will have the same issue, or if its Samsung's fault. We had technicians come and check things out, and they told us that Samsung assures us that there is no negative effect on the washing performance based on the temperature of the water in the "hot" water cycle. I am not sure about that, and even if it is true, whose idea was it to redefine "hot" and not be upfront and tell the consumer that when they choose the "hot" setting that it will not actually be hot?

We purchased this Samsung washer just over six months ago, in November 2016, and had it professionally installed. What a disaster it has turned out to be. We had major failures with the unit, and since it was under warranty, we contacted Samsung to come and repair it. Samsung came and fixed the unit, which had failed so badly that it was essentially a re-build: the drum had to be replaced; the bearing case had to be replaced and the motor had failed. With the first wash post-repair, the interior drum bar snapped off. It sounds sort of funny, but that means that the drum failed and has to be replaced again. We inspected the broken part; it looks like a dog used it as a chew toy. Deduction: they installed used parts in the new machine, which they can do under their warranty policy. Desperate, we wedged it sort of back in place to run a few more loads, but it wasn't draining properly and the error codes started flashing. The pump failed almost immediately. The machine is a clear lemon, and we are stuck with it, since Samsung refuses to replace it. So to summarize, within six months, our brand new machine has had five massive failures, the original brand new parts were replaced with faulty used parts which failed immediately, we are out several hundred dollars despite the machine being under warranty, and we have not had a functional washing machine for three weeks now. Buying this machine was a huge mistake.

We receive our new washer today and we are amaze with the performance. We use to have 2 years old laundry center or all in one how I like to call it, with a top load washer, it perform well for us until recently that started licking, after calling the technician the repair was going to cost you just a 200 dollars less than a new washer. So we decided go all in an buy a new washer, Samsung got our attention on reviews and presentation. And when we used it for the first time we finally fall in love with it. First of all the HE technology saves a lot on water, detergent and softener, and second the noise reduction we don't even notice that is running. We also requested a Gas Dryer that will take a little while to arrive since it is special order, that will complete our new Laundry. Thanks for such a great product so far we are super happy.

Control Panel does not respond to my touch and Drum light does not turn on when you open the door after a wash.

I like the washer for the most part. The only thing that bothers me (and unfortunately it appears that it will continue to bother me for the life of this machine) is that the control panel does not respond to my touch. It does respond to other people's touch, but just not mine. The Samsung came and looked at it and replaced the control panel. Even he was puzzled why the control panel does not respond to my touch. I tried wetting and warming my hands with hot water, and it still does not sense my touch. I tried touching it with a piece of metal, and it still does not sense my touch. So whenever I need to change the setting of the washer, I have to find someone else to change it for me. I was reading some reviews, and apparently I am not the only one who has this problem. Samsung needs to provide a solution for people like me. Otherwise all these features and options mean nothing to people like me. Another feature that does not work well is after a wash is completed, when I open the door, the drum light does not turn on. The light does turn on when I first open the door to put clothes in. But the light is more needed after the wash is completed than before I put in any clothe. I really don't need the light when I put my clothes in. I do need the light when the wash is completed to find spinned clothing pieces that might get stuck somewhere. So it is stupid that the drum light does not turning on when you open the door after a wash is completed.

I bought this to replace my 2008 Samsung front load washing machine. What a difference 9 years makes!!! My washing machine is on the 2nd floor and it does no shake the entire house during any of its cycles. In fact, you don't even know when it starts to spin!!! Never thought I would say I'm happy my older one broke!! LUV IT!!
